The subwoofer is one of the most important speakers in your home cinema system. A great sub will make any system sound even better, whereas an average sub can drag a top end system backwards. Remember that the sub can't do it's job properly if the full LFE information isn't delivered intact to the sub! The right subwoofer cable is critical in achieving this...
The best subwoofer cables contain a relatively large pure copper conductor, to maximize conductivity and reduce resistance - DO NOT use silver plated cables for subwoofers. If you do use silver plated cables you'll muddy the signal due to the different timing characteristics of the different conductor materials.
The LFE channel is a highly dynamic one, so fast transmission is essential through a uniform carrier. A thick ultra-low capacitance dielectric is needed to ensure there is no high-pass activity in the cable (the main crossover component in your speakers' tweeters is a capacitor, ie capacitance, whose job it is to cut bass info; good for tweeters but bad for subs!). Lastly, double shielding should be offered to alleviate the potential effects from ambient RFI and EMI, which could otherwise 'muddy' the bass. All of our cables exceed these criteria.
